Fort Bragg
Parade Field Renovation

This field (1.75 ac) serves as a training area for the 82nd Airborne, at Fort Bragg, NC. The renovation demonstrated how H2OLD ® Soil Amendment technology can establish healthy turfgrass for recreation and training activities, while reducing the compaction rate of the soil caused by high-volume traffic.
Prior to treatment, the parade field had sparse vegetation leading to erosion, and severe compaction leading to poor drainage.
The field was treated using a professional till-and-seed method that incorporated H2OLD ® Soil Amendment into the root zone. Only a sustainable permanent seed mix was used, no winter rye grass was allowed.
After renovation, temperatures quickly dropped below freezing, with the coldest two months ever recorded in Fayetteville. There were also several large storm events greater than 1.0” and two snow fall events also unusual for this area. Even with unfavorable weather, the results were remarkable.
